Job Description:
Job overview
We are looking to recruit a highly qualified Cardiac Physiologist/Cardiac Scientist specialising in Echocardiography to join our friendly and established team.
This is an exciting time to join our busy Cardio-Respiratory Department as we now have a new department structure. We seek an enthusiastic individual to help develop echo services for West Norfolk.
Our department values patient-centered care, striving to provide the best possible service and creating a positive environment. We support learning and development heavily.
Applicants should demonstrate extensive expertise in echocardiography, with excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills, and be willing to participate in teaching, training, and mentoring.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to work independently in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography and participate in specialised procedures such as TOE, Stress Echo, and Contrast/Bubble Studies, collaborating closely with Cardiologists. Teaching and mentoring will be significant parts of your role. You will perform a range of cardiac investigations to support departmental services and pursue professional development.
Working for our organisation
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King’s Lynn is located near scenic north Norfolk, close to Sandringham House. We provide comprehensive healthcare services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, including parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire, and South Lincolnshire.
The hospital has over 4,000 staff, about 530 beds, and a helipad for air ambulances. We collaborate with nearby hospitals for tertiary services, including regional trauma networks.
In February 2022, the Care Quality Commission rated the Trust as ‘Good’ in all inspected services, moving out of the recovery support system.
