Job Description Advises prospective and current F-1 International Students on all matter that may impact a student’s F-1 status, such as choosing a course, major, course load, withdraw, termination, transfer, etc. Serves as the Designated School Official ( DSO ), maintaining the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System ( SEVIS ) and all related certification requirements Monitor international student compliance with DHS, SEVP, and USCIS rules and regulations Organizes SEVIS data processing under the guidelines provided by the Department of Homeland Security ( DHS ) and maintains and overseas data. Prepares, develops, monitors, updates, and tracks SEVIS files and SEVIS alert list on a regularly basis. Provides accurate immigration information to international students, monitors, and tracks student immigration status, overseas and maintains appropriate files. Supports international students experiencing cross-cultural Provides academic advising services to international students including evaluating student academic history, developing academic and career goals, and outlining appropriate classes and resources needed to achieve these goals. Conducts information degree audits, evaluates and interpret placement test scores. Serves as student advocate in matters related to international students’ academic probation and be able to develop an improvement plan, monitors progress, and identifies specific areas for tutoring support and resources. Reviews and processed international student application documents, including the CCC admissions application. Maintain Datatel records and appropriate coding for F-1 student Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required ; Bilingual preferred Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident Working experience in intercultural communication Working experience in post-secondary settings advising students Experience in researching and interpreting academic policies and complex rules and regulations Experience in reviewing or evaluating transcripts and placement test scores
