As an ICT Senior Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our ICT infrastructure and providing technical assistance to our staff. The role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role you will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure. The ICT Network Engineer will provide the technical resources necessary to support business continuity for a 24/7 emergency policing service and its external partners.
Responsibilities
* To help establish, test, and maintain the network architecture including Cisco routers and switches & troubleshoot any issues that develop
* To assist with the implementation and maintenance of a CISCO ACI network
* To provide support to our Assistant network engineers
* To manage the performance of major routing protocols such as EIGRP and OSPF
* Communicating with 3rd party vendors
* Protecting data by maintaining firewalls, backups etc
* Conducting regular maintenance tasks
Requirements
* Must possess one of the following:
o Relevant IT degree
o Cisco Certified – preferably CCNA
o Demonstratable equivalent skills or experience in networking
* Must have experience of installing, configuring, troubleshooting and managing an on-premise network infrastructure including layer 2 and 3 switching and routing.
* Experience of managing network security via hardware and software
* Experience of network hardware and software including Cisco and Meraki solutions
* Demonstrate an understanding of datacentre network architectures, ICT disaster recovery strategies, and LAN / WLAN / WAN / Wi-Fi / MPLS / SD-Access networking technologies.
* Line management experience
