About the Role:
The Planning & Operations Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production process. This position involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to meet customer demands and ensure timely delivery of goods. You will work closely with the planning team, production departments, suppliers, and customer services to optimise production schedules, resolve issues, and maintain high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Planning, scheduling and coordinating production.
2. Work with the planning team to develop and maintain production schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods.
3. Evaluating raw material and all other bill of material requirements to ensure everything is in place to meet production requirements.
4. Reporting any issues associated with the plan to the Head of production planning.
5. Support customer services where necessary with customer delivery schedules.
6. Evaluate production and supplier performance, recommend improvement to any areas which are directly impacting the planning process/performance.
7. Resolve scheduling conflicts and adjust production schedules as needed.
8. Management of the Manufacturing Resource Planning system.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
2. Experience with Manufacturing Resource Planning systems (MRP).
3. Structured approach.
4. Good communication skills.
5. Computer and data literate.
6. Basic mathematics.
7. Analytical skills and logical approach to problem solving allowing for flexible methods of working.
8. Target oriented.
9. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees and management.
