Newcastle City Council's Children's Long Term Team is seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join their dedicated team. About the Role
As a Social Worker in their Children's Long Term Team, you will work with a caseload of children and young people with a variety of complex needs, including those with disabilities, chronic health conditions, and those in the care system. You will:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's needs and their families, identifying strengths, challenges, and goals.
* Develop and implement individualised care plans, ensuring tailored support is provided across different areas, including education, health, social care, and family well-being.
* Work closely with families, providing guidance, support, and advocacy to navigate the complexities of their child's needs.
* Collaborate effectively with a wide range of professionals, including health professionals, educators, and other agencies, to create a cohesive and integrated support network.
* Ensure the child's voice is heard and their rights are protected, advocating for their needs and promoting their best interests.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, adhering to relevant legislation and policies.
You will have:
* A recognised social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, BSC Social Work)
* A valid Social Work England registration
* Significant experience working with children with complex needs and their families
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and provide effective support
* A deep understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures
* A genuine commitment to child-centered practice and promoting the well-being of children
