A global market leader require a Senior Buyer. Applicants should be comfortable in a role with both tactical and strategic elements, be competent MRP/ERP user and adept at fostering strong internal and external relationships.
The Senior Buyer will work within a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers reporting to a Procurement Manager. An exciting, all-encompassing procurement role the Senior Buyer will support day-to-day procurement ensuring continuity of supply to the Basingstoke facility, while collaborating with global colleagues on strategic initiatives. In terms of the procurement, the area of spend in focus is direct materials and services for manufacturing. The role would suit a self-motivated, pro-active procurement professional looking for a varied role within a global organisation.
Specific tasks of the Senior Buyer include:
Management of the Purchase Order process and tactical execution of supply contracts within MRP/ERP system.
Supplier orderbook management, scheduling/re-scheduling of orders
Supplier Relationship Management - day-to-day against OTD/OTIF metrics with strategic partnering also
Monitoring of inventory levels
Collaboration with Global Procurement Team in regards to; negotiations, supplier identification, rationalisation, leveraging of spend, category management etc.
Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
Procurement or Purchasing experience, as a Buyer or Senior Buyer, Strategic Buyer, Supply Planning or Supplier Manager experience would also work
Ability to use an MRP/ERP system
Comfort in switching between operational and strategic tasks
Ability to work within a matrix structured organisation
