The opportunity
1. As an Executive at Azets, you will have the ability and motivation needed to:
2. Begin to take ownership of your own portfolio with support from your manager
3. Support in delivering revenue and profitability targets
4. Begin to develop enduring client relationships
Day to day duties
5. Manage the end-to-end payroll process and auto enrolment compliance for a portfolio of clients
6. Deal with all associated payroll processing tasks required for processing to completion of the payroll process
7. Manage client expectations
8. Develop relationships with your clients also ensuring effective communication with the wider offices, HMRC and other third-party providers
9. Working as part of the wider team to review work produced by more junior team members and support the Payroll Manager
10. Leading by example in regards to attitude and processing of payrolls, so others in the team will follow suit
11. Being the first point of contact to the team to assist and support the team in responding to queries from clients, HMRC, 3rd party providers etc.
12. Support in regards to legislation and system queries
13. Completing regular training for the wider team, which could range from information about legislation to systems
14. Peer checking of payrolls
15. Streamlining any current processes within the team/ Updating and maintaining payroll records/files
16. Any ad-hoc duties or projects that may be necessary
17. Producing and developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
What are we looking for?
18. Over two years’ experience in payroll with experience using STAR (experience in a bureau environment would be highly desirable)
19. End to end Payroll processing experience including pensions, benefits and statutory payments
20. Must have the ability to manually calculate a payroll
21. High level of accuracy and attention to detail across both manual and systems based work
22. A natural ability to coordinate, prioritise and multitask with little supervision
23. Strong customer focused approach, ability to handle customer queries by telephone and email
24. Be able to adapt to a highly changeable environment
25. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
26. Ability to work under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines
27. In depth knowledge and understanding of payroll legislation, processing, and auto enrolment regulations
28. Effective client management experience and steps towards staff management
29. Mentorship and coaching experience to support other team members to ensure they perform work duties
30. Ideally with a CIPP Foundation degree qualification or working towards this qualification
