FinTech RS are currently supporting our client to recruit for a Well Interventions Instructor, on a permanent full time basis at their headquarters in Aberdeen. Within this role you will be responsible for the research, development, maintenance and delivery of a wide range of specialist technical training courses for the organisation and its global network of training centres. The role involves bringing technical aspects of the well interventions industry (including completions, interventions, workovers and P&A) into a classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience within the field and is looking to pass this on to the next generation of workforce and transition into a training/ instructor role. Candidates who can demonstrate good knowledge levels, 3-5yrs of relevant experience and good communication skills will be considered and trained appropriately in order to become a fully certified instructor and assessor. Key responsibilities: · Develop and maintain the organisations instruction material and IPR · Research required subject matter (Well programme design, Casing design, Cementing, Completions, Well intervention operations, Well integrity, Workover operations, subsea well interventions and P&A),advise on technical solutions, prepare technical reports and teaching materials(e.g. PowerPoint, case studies, worked examples etc.) · Preparation and delivery of a range of specialist technical courses, client consultancy and technical writing documentation · Determine suitable technical solutions to well engineering and integrity challenges and deliver high quality instruction of existing or prepared training to the required standards · Assess students in classroom or simulator environments to the required standards · Undertake coaching and competency assessment of crews both in the classroom and rig-site Quality assurance responsibilities: · Support development and improvement of the organisations courses and associated course materials · In conjunction with Document Control, implement the organisations QA-QC policies, monitor course outcomes and make the necessary changes in teaching methodology and course materials to ensure technical integrity and continuous improvement · In conjunction with Technical group instructors and engineers recommend improvements and upgrades to existing materials · Ensure that externally accredited courses are compiled and delivered to the syllabi set required by the accrediting bodies · Ensure that bespoke courses are compiled and delivered to the client’s specified work scope Business development responsibilities: · Engagement with our Business Development team and the customer, to ensure that the training courses meet or surpass the customer’s requirements and expectations. · Contribute to the preparation of course descriptors and schedules · Engage with industry bodies and customers to identify any training needs and opportunities that may be evolving Experience & Qualification: · The role would suit an engineer with a minimum of 2-5 years relevant oilfield experience across the broad range of disciplines associated with the well’s full life-cycle · Candidates must be technically competent and show a good knowledge of well intervention operations across some/all of the well life-cycle · Experience of subsea well interventions is highly desirable, though not essential · Knowledge of complex operations (e.g. well integrity, subsea well interventions, P&A, coiled- tubing, snubbing etc) is desirable · Previous teaching, WOCRM and coaching experience would be beneficial · Good communication skills and the ability to engage with students are essential · An excellent command of the English language is required, the command of other languages will be considered an advantage
