Morgan McKinley, Northern Home Counties are proud to partner with a leading manufacturing company based in Bedford, looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations and ensuring the accurate management of financial records.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain and update purchase ledger, ensuring accurate invoice codings
· Manage purchase orders and ensure approvals are sought for non-PO invoices
· Maintain sales ledger and ensure accurate invoice codings.
· Handle the addition and removal of assets from the financial asset register.
· Assist with the financial asset register
· Assist with month-end close duties, including balance sheet reconciliations and forecasting.
· Update and reconcile the bank account with the Finance Manager.
· Support in updating daily cash forecasts.
· Prepare bi-weekly payment runs and distribute remittance advices.
· Assist with payroll duties and other finance-related tasks as needed.
· Assist the Office Manager
· Ensure timesheet systems are up to date and maintain contact details in Xero.
· Perform additional ad hoc duties
Person Specification:
· Previous experience in a finance/accounts role, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
· Familiarity with Xero, ApprovalMax, and finance software.
· A solid understanding of VAT.
· Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
· Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
