Role Summary: Capital Group is seeking to add an Investment Analyst into Capital Fixed Income Investors (CFII) team in London, to expand our EMEA Corporate Credit capabilities. Our fixed income team invests broadly across the global fixed income markets and has assets in excess of $500 billion under management. As a Fixed Income Investment Analyst based in London you will conduct financial and macro analysis of EMEA corporate bonds, across multiple industries. You will engage in primary, direct research in your area of coverage; make investment recommendations to portfolio managers; and, directly invest in a research portfolio. Key relationships: The role reports to Robert Burgess, who works as a Research Director and is based in London. Other key relationships: Fixed Income Portfolio Managers Fixed Income Analysts Fixed Income Traders Relevant distribution teams Primary responsibilities: Analyse and do fundamental credit work on corporate bonds across EMEA, assessing absolute return opportunities Assess the relative value of bonds across an issuer’s security structure and across the broad corporate bond universe, with the objective of recommending investment actions Analyse economic, financial and industry trends, and proactively communicate these findings with other analysts and portfolio managers Maintain contact with company managements and industry participants on a regular basis Manage a portfolio of securities drawn from your sector coverage Produce written reports and regular updates, as needed Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience across Emerging Markets corporate credit Superior research skills and the drive to develop and share investment insight from multiple angles Understanding of fixed income markets with a demonstrated track record of success Excellent written and oral communication skills (c andidates will be comfortable and familiar presenting research in a variety of different ways, for example through thematic reports, weekly briefings and through oral presentation) Ability to work proactively and creatively in a global team environment (with a wide range of internal stakeholders) Candidates will have excellent academics and hold a bachelor’s degree from a top university as well as ideally a relevant post-graduate qualification (MBA, CFA, Master’s in Finance/Economics - preferred, not required). In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
