We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join one of our specialist SEN school's St Austell and Bodmin area. Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEND, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech and Language difficulties, and other learning disabilities.
Assist in the delivery of individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure students' needs are met.
Work closely with class teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Support students with their personal, social, and emotional development.
Use various communication methods to support students with their learning, including visual aids, Makaton, and assistive technology.
Help to manage classroom behavior and provide a calm, supportive atmosphere.
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting is essential.
A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
Knowledge of SEND, particularly ASD, and experience with tailored teaching methods.
A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students.
