This is a fixed-term (12-month), full-time position based at our site in Crumlin.
Role Overview:
The R&D Technical Assistant contributes towards day-to-day activities of the CoE. They will support the R&D Scientist with tasks pertaining to the development of recombinant proteins from microbial and mammalian sources.
Role Requirements
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Assist on day-to-day tasks in conjunction with the research scientist with minimal supervision (previous laboratory experience will be required).
2. Prepare reagents/buffer/media as per instruction.
3. Maintain equipment in working order with respect to calibrations, cleanliness and operations including but not limited to hoods, pipettes, pH meters, spectrophotometer, autoclave, incubator, shaker, water baths, reactor, homogenizer, centrifuges etc.
4. Assist scientist with accurate data logging on experiments and report generation.
5. Help scientist with maintenance of user logs, chemical lists, stock intakes, ordering etc.
6. Ensure smooth supply of laboratory inventory requirements.
7. Cleaning and maintenance of laboratory glassware, plastic wares, and other allied consumables.
8. Ability to plan/organize assigned time-bound activities within the laboratory.
9. Valuable team member, quick learner with attention to detail, good written and verbal communication skills.
10. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
11. Flexible with work time requirements (occasional shift-based with prior time slot agreement) as per company policies.
12. Comply with the requirements of the BBI quality system.
