In return we can offer competitive pay, excellent benefits, a competitive pension scheme and a rewarding career in an award-winning team To undertake general terminal duties in line with the business needs, including but not exclusively, Container Inspection, cleaning, sweeping out and grading for customer use using both Intermodal Manager and paper receipts. Reefer, activities including temperature monitoring, plug in and steam cleaning. Cargo Handling, unloading containers as instructed, preparing goods and waste products for distribution and or recycling, bailing bags, collecting waste product and painting bulkheads. Where trained and competent to operate machinery and equipment to complete the task and to participate in the general working of the site, with the aim of providing a safe environment to all users and visitors and service excellence to our customers. Shift working and weekend working may be required. Undertake non-technical examinations and grading of empty containers and record details of the check. Inspecting and grading all empty containers to the agreed standards and removing all dunnage. Where instructed unload containers, preparing goods and waste products for distribution and or recycling, bailing bags, collecting waste product and painting bulkheads. Update records as appropriate, detailing and reporting all containers requiring repair and where trained to do so, undertake such minor repairs i.e. door seals, flash banding… Carry out steam cleaning and sweep out of containers as required. Undertake daily operator checks of all equipment trained and competent to use, ensuring that all relevant paperwork is completed. Plug in Reefers to facilitate Pre-Trip Inspections (PTI’s) and set temperatures, monitoring live reefer temperatures, making accurate records. Where instructed assist in written physical checks of laden and empty storage areas. Ensure prompt reporting of any mishap, near miss, incident, or any other problem, completing all relevant supporting documentation. The company would reasonably expect staff to assist in the general running and upkeep of the site within their skill base and capabilities maintaining the working area in a clean and presentable condition. Undertake general housekeeping duties on the site picking up litter and empty waste bins throughout the Terminal. Attend any training course to improve competence, including courses away from home location, commensurate with grade and remuneration. Undertake any other duties required or as directed by management to enhance the revenue and or the performance of the Terminal, commensurate with grade and remuneration.
