You would be at the centre of leading a new joint venture between Ashford and Canterbury Councils to enable new housing to come forward while protecting the environment in the Stour catchment. Stour Environmental Credits has already attracted national interest for the innovative approach and public/private sector partnership. You'll be able to join the company at its beginning and establish a portfolio of environmental improvements to enable housing growth in the Southeast. What’s in it for you? £63,500 - £68,500 per annum Hybrid, flexible working Healthcare Life Insurance Defined Contribution Pension Scheme About this Managing Director job opportunity: Key responsibilities: Lead, be responsible for and enable the daily operations and manage the business aspects of Stour Environmental Credits Ltd. Under the strategic direction of the company board. This role will be responsible for project and programme management and future business planning and have considerable stakeholder management and engagement. Your initial focus will be on purchasing and selling nutrient mitigation solutions by: Effective day-to-day management of the business Sourcing and negotiating nutrient neutrality mitigation Developing a portfolio of environmental solutions, including nutrient credits Liaising with planning teams, regional and national groups Reporting to the Joint Venture Board About you, the ideal Managing Director for the job: You’ll have: Clear Leadership and ability to influence and persuade others at a senior level Demonstrable experience in managing a large-scale programme within timescales and budgets with clearly articulated personal success measures A good understanding of the environmental challenges associated with housing growth, including nutrient neutrality Experience in developing and delivering projects, working in partnership with other agencies and external organisations Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a range of partners and other agencies, 46-55% of this role’s time will be spent on external communication Experience in securing funding and finance for projects and programmes Demonstrable capability to negotiate and influence others to achieve desired outcomes, balancing a wide range of views to gain buy-in Capable of communicating challenging information accurately and concisely to a breadth of different audiences Demonstrable experience in thinking innovatively about effective approaches to problem-solving.
