About our Department : The Support to Study Case Officer sits within our Quality and Registry team, the University's administration hub for our students. It is responsible for a wide range of functions from governance and quality assurance through to student administration, marking and assessment. About the Opportunity: The Support to Study Case Officer will have responsibility for the organisation and management of Fitness to Study referrals, providing advice and guidance to staff and students and recommending the appropriate course of action in accordance with the University’s regulations and procedures. This includes the initial review of student cases, evidence gathering, management of review panels and the monitoring of associated action plans. This will involve monitoring data in relation to fitness to study and prepare reports for University Committees as part of quality monitoring procedures. About You: Essential requirements: High competence in casework management including prioritising and monitoring, including gathering evidence and information from various sources and people. Knowledge/Experience Experience of working in a Higher Education/Further Education environment. Knowledge and understanding of the impact of mental health difficulties on academic engagement. Used to working in a multi-disciplinary environment under time pressure and using own initiative. Experience of working with a variety of IT systems including SharePoint and office 365, Microsoft packages. Experience of handling complex student queries. Experience of action planning and reporting. An understanding of case management, and effective triage. Desirable requirements: Knowledge of quality assurance processes in an educational context. Experience of working with student record systems or large IT record systems’ Experience of working with policies and procedures relating to fitness to study. Understanding and knowledge of Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) support/funding.
