Decontamination Services Technician - Grade A, AGH Solutions 30 hours per week.
Working hours are as follows:
Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm
Saturday 8am to 1pm (working 1 in 4 Saturdays)
Please note, the position will be part of the Bank Holiday rota working 8am to 12pm.

Main duties of the job
1. To undertake decontamination services duties and assist in providing a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient.
2. Record all tasks on the Health Edge computerised traceability systems.
3. Work in accordance with the department's work instructions and Quality Management systems.
4. To provide supervision to Apprentice Decontamination Technicians within the team.
5. Plan own workload with limited supervision.
6. The role involves exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent of knowledge / or GSCE English, Maths and Sciences at Grade C or above.
* Basic Microbiology knowledge.
Experience/Knowledge
* Proven experience of working within a Healthcare/manufacturing environment.
* Experience of customer relations and dealing with a diverse customer base both face to face and over the telephone.
* Experience of working in a team but also able to work on own initiative.
* Healthcare/industry experience in health and safety and hygiene.
* Working within a Quality system and standard operating procedures.
* Knowledge and experience in the decontamination of reusable medical devices.
Skills
* Basic IT Skills.
* Basic English and Maths.
* Ability to work accurately under pressure.
* Basic Microbiology knowledge.
* Good communication skills, written and spoken.
* Positive attitude towards change.
* Shows interest in the aims of the department.
