Those Huge Small Victories
Our teachers are fulfilled by making even the smallest positive changes in our young people, celebrating the little things. There are many ups and downs, and for some of our young people, sitting through a lesson can be a big win. We call these huge small victories, and while they may seem small, they add up to make a big difference.
Get out what you put in
You will work with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Your role is to help them learn, develop their abilities, and boost their self-esteem. Resilience and dedication are essential, but the huge small victories you achieve will be a source of pride.
It can be challenging, but positive progress will make it worthwhile. As a Teacher at Witherslack Group, you will receive comprehensive support from in-house psychologists, teaching assistants, and therapy professionals. Our colleagues are experts, our environments are well-resourced, and we will support you every step of the way in building a rewarding teaching career.
One of the best environments in SEND
Oversands School is an independent specialist day school based in Witherslack, Cumbria. It caters to pupils with complex learning needs, social and emotional difficulties, and challenging behaviors.
"Here we know every pupil, their story, how we can help, and how they can succeed." This is reflected in a dedicated lower school designed with input from pupils, an upper school offering a broad range of subjects, and vocational and post-16 provisions with extensive courses led by experts.
