Interim Finance Business Partner - HAAS Hybrid – Southwest Full Time 6 Month Fixed Term Contract Competitive Salary plus Benefits Here at Serco, we’re seeking a Finance Business Partner in Serco’s Citizen Services division, you will provide essential financial and commercial insight across our Health Assessment Advisory Services contracts in the Southwest. You’ll support business leaders to deliver profitable and sustainable growth for services and be responsible for providing dedicated, commercial, and financial decision support aligned to strategy and customer priorities to win good business and improve shareholder value. You’ll work with the contract management team to challenge assumptions, influence decisions, and make recommendations for efficiency improvements to sustain growth. You’ll play an integral role in ensuring accurate reporting to the customer, and that processes and controls are in place to report on costs correctly. The role will also ensure that monthly financials and future forecasts and budgets are accurate and capture all available information using both internal and external sources. You’ll also have management over two supply chain partners, validating the monthly financial submission, and making sure that payments are approved in line with the performance regime from the head contract. Main responsibilities of the role: Act as a trusted, visible, and accessible point of contact to business leaders; providing commercial and financial decision support; challenge and insight into business profitability to drive future performance. Understand the customer landscape and their drivers to provide contract / service pricing, cash, and margin optimisation recommendations, ensuring an acceptable balance of risk and return. Accountable for the accuracy of financial records, compliance, business financial plans and forecasts that are produced by the Centre of Excellence. Understand the value drivers of the business and provide guidance on contract / service performance including ROI, scenario planning, KPI analysis and benchmarking. Develop customer relationships to support successful commercial and financial negotiations regarding variable revenue, rebids and change notices. Support business leaders to deliver contractual obligations through identification of over and under delivery, performing root cause analysis, and making recommendations. Drive contract / service cost optimisation projects through profitability analysis and efficiency recommendations. Proactive identification, assessment, and management of financial and commercial risks. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders through the sharing of knowledge and collaboration. Champion working as part of a virtual team with the business, Centre of Excellence and Group Finance to embed and sustain the Finance Operating Model. What you’ll need: Must hold an appropriate professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Strong commercial acumen, with experience in a complex, fast-paced business environment. A proven ability to transform financial data into clear, actionable insights to support strategic decisions. Excellent influencing, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills with key decision-makers. Adaptability and resilience, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong relationship-building skills and a customer-focused approach. A track record of driving financial performance through analysis, planning, and cost optimization initiatives. Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK.
