Chartered Structural Engineer

Reed are partnered with a market leader in structural steel design, fabrication, painting, and erection across various sectors in the UK. The company has grown to become a significant player in the structural engineering industry. We are looking for a Chartered Structural Engineer to coordinate, design, and develop steel frames for industrial and commercial buildings from inception to completion.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Design and develop structural steel frames, ensuring all designs meet regulatory standards and customer specifications.
* Perform detailed structural analysis and calculations to ensure safety, stability, and integrity.
* Review, certify, and optimize structural designs and provide technical solutions for complex challenges in steel construction.
* Interface directly with clients to define project requirements, provide technical advice, and assist in the development of project proposals.
* Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize project outcomes without compromising quality.
* Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and design consultants to ensure design requirements are met and projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Chartered Structural Engineer (CEng MIStructE) or Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng MICE) with a minimum of 10 years’ experience.
* Extensive experience in structural steel design for industrial and commercial buildings.
* Proficiency with structural design software such as STAAD, Tekla, and familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
* Strong experience in customer-facing roles and value engineering.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
