Join our dedicated team as a Safeguarding Officer, where you’ll play a key role in managing high-level safeguarding cases, collaborating with professionals, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all learners. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an exciting opportunity to join a friendly team passionate about creating a warm and secure atmosphere while ensuring the safety of colleagues and students on-site.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a Safeguarding Officer, responding to safeguarding concerns, student disclosures, and incidents involving learners. Liaise with colleagues and external partners to address these issues. Proactively gather evidence, such as CCTV footage and social media content, to aid in crime prevention and detection. Manage high-level safeguarding cases, including those involving Child in Need or Child Protection plans. Work with staff to implement appropriate support for students. Serve as a contact for students, parents, social workers, and external agencies, attending professional meetings as required. Maintain accurate records and ensure a safe, collaborative environment with support teams. Develop resources to raise safeguarding awareness. Assist with training delivery and undertake duties as directed by the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
To be successful, you must be educated to level 3 in child safeguarding or commitment to complete within a specified timescale. You must also be able to demonstrate strength of character by being an excellent team player and being able to work well under pressure. You will need excellent time management skills and be able to work independently using your own initiative.
