LOCATION: Northampton
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As our Installation Engineer, you will be reporting to the Installation Manager. You'll be part of a small, but highly skilled and close-knit team, installing, commissioning and testing our world-class electrical travelling overhead cranes and associated gantry support structures on customer sites throughout the UK. This is a varied and dynamic role that involves working closely with clients, Project Managers, and other Engineers to ensure that installations are completed safely, on time, and to the highest technical standards.
Responsibilities:
1. The on-site testing, installation, and commissioning of gantry cranes, jib cranes, runway beams & other lifting equipment.
2. Erection of fabricated gantry structures.
3. Ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and company standards.
4. The final commissioning and customer hand-over.
5. The completion of all H&S and RAMS documentation.
6. Working collaboratively with the project team to deliver successful outcomes.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
You'll be a qualified and experienced electrically biased Installation Engineer who is happy working at heights and willing to travel throughout the UK.
Requirements:
1. Be capable of working 3 phase electrical supplies and control circuits.
2. Familiar with three phase motors and associated switching equipment (contactors, relays, and inverters).
3. Have strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
4. Ideally be certified 17th edition - this is a preference but not an essential.
5. Be an excellent problem solver, able to identify and resolve faults.
6. Possess strong organisational skills, taking the lead of both plant & labour on site.
But, above all, you'll be highly motivated, always put the customer first and work well as part of a team.
