Salary - £33,886.88 plus local bonus scheme
Hours - 40 per week Monday to Friday variable hours
(06:00 - 14:30, 10:00 - 18:30, 07:00 - 15:30)

This is a state-of-the-art Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) just to the east of Birmingham City Centre, which takes 350,000 tonnes of Birmingham's rubbish each year and converts it into electricity.

What will you be doing?
Within the waste transfer station, duties include Forklift truck operations, unloading and loading of vehicles, transferring waste around the site, loading/unloading of 5 cubic metre bins onto the incinerator hoist system
Carrying out pre-acceptance checks of waste upon its arrival at the site
Receive and handle a wide range of waste types including hazardous, non hazardous, confidential and secure and wastes.
Assessment of waste container contents and transferring of waste from pallets to bins in order to maintain a suitable and efficient waste stream for the dedicated High Temperature Incinerator.
Carry out Receiving Hall operative duties, operating the wheeled bucket loader to manage the waste inputs into the waste bunker.
Carry out baghouse ash filter operative duties, ensuring ash hopper levels and lines are kept clear of blockages
What are we looking for?
Experience with wheeled bucket loader and forklift vehicles
Experience of continuous process environment
Full clean UK driving licence
Knowledge and high regard for Health & Safety
Must be PC literate, ability to learn how to use software systems
In date DBS check or willingness to undertake one.
Our site is a 24/7 operation, there may be occasions where there is a requirement to work unsociable hours or provide short notice cover, so a degree of flexibility is required
