As a member of Production and Operations Department you will support the Production and Content team as their primary technical point of contact during the season for both planning and delivery attending race events throughout the season. In the first instance the role will help shape the technical operation, logistics and the technical facilities being deployed for the first time in 2025. Please note this role requires significant worldwide travel and weekend work. What you'll do: Work with the senior stakeholders alongside the production management to plan and deliver the season. Collaboration with, and on-site management of, the field engineering operations and supporting field engineering managers on events as and when required. Leads the team with knowledge and strategic advice that supports sustained implementation of Sky’s technical processes and delivery. Collaborate with Sky departments and their respective SMEs as required; engaging with our Studios/Galleries, Post Production, MCR and the wider Sky Group Technology teams (CT&I). Produce documentation and schematics that are required to support the production and contributing to the event planning sheets. Own and fully understand the technical solution and workflows deployed to deliver for our customers. Logistical planning for and during each season, collaborating with Senior Production Manager to ensure the technical facilities are delivered as required for each event location Ensuring equipment logistics and customs detail is implemented and tracked throughout the season with Sky’s logistics team and Supplier. Ensure all equipment is maintained and rotated through the UK for repair / service as required. Work with our stakeholders, suppliers and other parties on an ongoing basis to act as the conduit for any technical considerations between the supplier and Sky Group. Work alongside the Senior Production Manager to deliver the technical solution on budget each year. What you'll bring: Proven experience of working and technical planning across sports outside broadcast. Ability to manage the technical budget. Great communication and collaboration skills in-line with Sky’s values at all levels of our business. A working knowledge of current Health and Safety regulations as they would apply to outside broadcasts (incl. RAMS, Electrical Safety, Working at Height), in UK, IT, DE and global countries travelled to. Understanding of the current technologies and remote production workflows deployed to support sports event production. Expertise in the various methods utilised for delivery of signals between Outside Broadcasts, Sky Studios and/or thirds parties, plus understanding the knock-ons of dual SDR/HDR workflows Experience managing small highly focused technical teams. Knowledge of SDI video routers, networking, plus Riedel and Calrec audio systems would be an advantage.
