Job overview
This role is only open to applicants that currently work within an NHS Trust within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (HIOW ICS).
To work as an autonomous practitioner within the Haemophilia, Haemostasis and Thrombosis Service, overseeing the provision of psychological care for children and families with Haemophilia and other related bleeding disorders.
The post holder will be part of the Southern Haemophilia Network (SHN) as an embedded member of the multidisciplinary team. The SHN is unique in providing comprehensive life span care for patients with inherited bleeding disorders across the south of England. Psychology has been an integral and highly valued part of care since 2014 and the post holder will form part of a growing service providing specialist psychological support to children and young people across the network.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide complex psychological assessment and therapy, offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and other non-professional carers working autonomously within professional guidelines.
2. To utilise research skills to contribute to qualitative and quantitative research projects that are already underway within the service, using research skills for audit, policy and service development.
3. To work as an autonomous practitioner who is individually accountable for all clinical decisions within professional guidelines while consulting appropriately with peers and receiving clinical supervision.
4. To be responsible for formal and informal teaching and training to healthcare staff about the psychological needs of the client group, attending multidisciplinary clinics and meetings as appropriate.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Clinical
* The post holder will agree standards for their work with their line manager, ensuring that the overall pattern of work is in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
* To conduct specialist clinical psychology assessments of children and families referred to the psychology service, based upon appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data.
* To provide integrated formulations and highly specialised psychological treatments for clients with inherited bleeding disorders.
* To implement a wide range of psychological interventions for individuals, groups, and family members, using clinical judgement and knowledge of evidence-based approaches.
* To develop, deliver, and systematically evaluate services for children and young people with Haemophilia and other related bleeding disorders.
* To ensure clients receive well-coordinated care through liaison with other staff and attendance at relevant team meetings.
* To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and provide general advice to other professionals.
* To participate in professional development and maintain appropriate levels of registration/accreditation.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Registration with the HCPC
* Post-doctoral training in additional specialised area of psychological practice and/or research methods.
Experience
* Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of children, young people, and families.
* Experience of delivering tailored psychological interventions (e.g., 1:1, couple, group, and systemic interventions).
* Experience of implementing service developments informed by audit and outcome data.
Skills
* Doctoral level knowledge of clinical or counselling psychology including highly developed knowledge of lifespan developmental psychology.
* Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including multivariate data analysis; skills in using SPSS.
* Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention, and management of individuals presenting with complex problems.
