The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCo and team to assist in the classroom. You will be responsible for working across a discrete range of pupil need (eg students with an EHCP/SEN) and for the most part delivered on a one-to-one or small group basis. You will be assisting the SENCO to promote individual pupils’ academic, social and emotional development through the development and implementation of programmes of pupil work and support and in the provision of a stable, caring and supportive learning environment; to enable the pupil(s) to achieve their full learning potential and facilitate their personal, academic, social and moral development. We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic, conscientious and caring individual to join our growing team of Teaching assistants. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as being able to use initiative and work independently are essential skills. About Us The Dorset Studio School is a thriving 11-16 mainstream school for students who wish to pursue careers in the Land and Environment Sectors. Our students will become professionals in Equine Care, Veterinary Nursing, Farming, Rural Craft, Environmental and Countryside Management; as well as a host of other related careers. We combine academic rigour with the sequential development of key employment skills across a focussed and interdisciplinary curriculum. There is a significant emphasis on study towards GCSE and Vocational qualifications, with approximately eighty percent of the week spent in classroom and land based study. Practical lessons will differ from those experienced in other schools. Our students will be out in all weathers completing the practical elements of their study towards key industry specific qualifications.
