Overview: The Head of Cloud Services will be responsible for leadership across our clients business for Cloud & Application Modernisation Consulting services, Mentoring and Line Management of Principal Consultants as required, and Supporting Consulting Director to meet operational requirements of Consulting function. The role will be a Hybrid working position, going to customer sites as required. Responsibilities: You will be: Leveraging an expansive breadth of Cloud technical services experience as well as in-depth knowledge of market demands, the Practice Lead (PL), drives delivery excellence and supports our clients ability to achieve revenue and margin targets. Operates as the technical authority across key stakeholders both at our clients and across our customer portfolio and in doing so guides and mentors the business both internally and at point of delivery to ensure successful outcomes. Supports the Consulting Services Director to ensure the Consulting operations run and deliver in accordance with defined best practice and doing so meets the quality requirements of Consulting Services. Provides subject matter expertise as part of the sales lifecycle for Cloud & Application Modernisation aligned opportunities. Works closely with Cloud Infrastructure & Security Head of Service Development and CTO in defining and delivering Cloud & Application Moderisation Service offerings as well as the enablement of the consulting practice to ensure capabilities meet strategic needs balancing cost and time. Able to manage client relationships and build consensus and trust in our clients delivery. Coach others on client agenda and customer ownership. Articulate the value of our client's services across the entire Delivery Portfolio to solve customer problems, with a particular focus on Cloud & Application Modernisation. Provide subject matter expertise, with customer projects and technical mentoring within the delivery team, both as a Leader and in an active consulting capacity. Support the Function project related financial goals. Ensure team delivery responsibilities on billable engagements are achieved with focus on quality, through ownership of the engagement. Ownership of Technical Governance for Practice area across CIS (Consulting & Managed Services) Undertake reviews of CIS Managed Services accounts as required, quarterly minimum, providing insight and opportunities. Consulting Craft: Demonstrate proficiency within areas of subject matter expertise, written/verbal communication, presentation, facilitation, interviewing, and delivery. Serve effectively in project governance/Leadership roles on small, medium, and large engagements. Guide others to achieve both individual and team-based goals. Recognised internal expert within technical/functional areas; develop new techniques, processes, and standards; track industry developments for new tools and techniques. Ownership of opportunities through sales process (Monitoring pipeline, owning solution from a practice perspective with pre-sales, approval of proposals/SOW within authority levels), and then through delivery lifecycle including providing account insight for future opportunities. Pro-active monitoring & support for pipeline aligned to practice. Review, approve and plan technical resources into the opportunity by required start date. Provide insight and visibility of sales pipeline for practice area to CSD to input into overall practice strategy and planning. Accountable for technical screening and interviewing across practice. Provide coaching across CIS technical community in screening/interviewing techniques. Support the People Manager with Performance Management related topics for the Technical and Senior Consultants including technical accreditation plans for Personal Development Plans (PDPs) and the provision of objective feedback for Personal Development Reviews (PDRs). Perform Line Management duties for Principal Consultants. Operate as part of the Consulting Leadership team, operating as SME for all business stakeholders. Stay abreast of emerging market trends, technologies, gather customer insight, attend technology events and work with CSD/HoSD/CTO to drive new and/or update existing service offerings in collaboration with CTO Office. Provide thought leadership of overall CIS strategy for practice area to cover Consulting & Managed Service propositions and product development in collaboration with the Head of Service Development Accountable for the continual review and development of the Practice definition, delivery collateral and IP, in line with business needs. Deputise for Consulting Services Director when requested. Collaborate with the Vendor Alliances team and technology partners to define our offerings and obtain insights. Liaise with Sales / Pre-Sales teams for definitive approaches with clients around messaging to help calibrate their approach to clients. Qualifications: Person Specification: Proven delivery and leadership skills. Understanding of Technical Design Authority. Ownership of engagement (leading the team). Strong understanding of markets, opportunities, and competitors, as well as business issues and challenges. Strong written and verbal communication skills - ability to deliver effective and persuasive presentations to customers and employees. Excellent consulting and interpersonal skills; proven ability to influence and gain consensus. Structured problem solving and analytical skills. Collaborative working style, encompassing all delivery disciplines. Able to lead both real and virtual teams to reach one common end goal. Able to provide mentoring across the delivery team. Ability to travel as and when required. General Skills and Expertise: Experienced, professional, services/technical consultant to support pre-sales engagement calls with customers and to deliver engagements sold. Detailed knowledge of the Cloud industry and associated emerging trends. Knowledge of the different services and offerings. Demonstrated technical design and implementation of Cloud & infrastructure solutions. Demonstrated problem-solving and Leadership skills. Project facilitation ensuring delivery of services set up in line with customer's needs. Demonstrable ability to work as a consultant to CIO/IT Director level. Manage workshop environments, taking ownership and leading all aspects of workshop facilitation. Interface with Project Managers within the organisation and the client's IT staff to ensure effective delivery of services. Demonstrable ability to provide robust and clear feedback to both internal and external stakeholders. Proven experience of people management across a dispersed team. Technical Expertise, Qualifications and Accreditations: Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience.
