A secondary provision in Weston- super -Mare working with Teaching Personnel are looking a Maths Teacher who’s highly committed in helping young people, many of whom have faced significant challenges due to health reasons such as chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety (including EBSA) or even recovering from serious illness to achieve more than they might believe is possible. The timetables are very personalised and students are referred by their mainstream school with a letter of support from a senior health professional. The students are dual registered with their mainstream school and the expectation is that we are not a long-term placement. The classroom sizes are no bigger than 3 students with the support of 1or 2 TA’s in the classroom. This role does not initial any Personal Care The ideal candidate Be an ECT or a Fully Qualified Teacher Be enthusiastic and able to engage children in their learning. The aim is to get the children back into mainstream education when they’re well enough. Be confident, proactive and understanding working with children with medical conditions Will be comfortable teaching Maths to Y9-11 students Information about the role: Part-Time: Tuesday - Friday, term time only 8:15 – 3:45 Classroom size: 3 pupils, creating strong relationships with the students with lots of classroom support of 1-2 TA’s. Start: The role begins after Easter as maternity cover, but will very likely be until Christmas (potential of being extended to a direct contract) Paid to scale and paid weekly and do not use Umbrella companies to process your payment.
