We offer a competitive salary of £55,000 per annum for this permanent role.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a top-tier COMAH registered chemical manufacturing company based on Saltend Chemical Park in Hull. As a Mechanical Instrumentation Specialist, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day engineering support to the assets at the site. You will work independently, often with minimal supervision, as part of a multi-disciplinary team including operations, electrical and mechanical personnel.
Your key objectives will include maximising the reliability and availability of the assets, ensuring SHE targets are met, and resolving maintenance issues through practical and organisational skills.
You will have a key role in ensuring the plant operates safely to meet both the company's and regulator's expectations, maintaining high safety performance and operational integrity.
About the Job Holder
The successful candidate will be required to undertake the day-to-day instrument technician core role activities, including breakdown and preventative maintenance, repair and installation of Instrument equipment.
* Interact with the maintenance coordination team and discipline engineers to discuss and deliver solutions for daily plant issues.
* Work with permit signatories to prepare permit requests, method statements and risk assessments.
* Liaise regularly with other trade disciplines and supervisors for scaffolding and lagging when required.
* Become conversant within the permit system.
* Carry out enabling isolations on Instrument systems.
* Fault find following equipment failure, identifying problems and resolving these within a specified timescale while minimising costs.
* Operate, maintain and install Instrument systems in accordance with appropriate standards and procedure.
