Primary Qualified Teacher to deliver a Cognition and Learning curriculum to secondary aged learners.

Shepwell Short Stay School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and potential of every pupil at the school. We have places in school for 90 learners, all who have an EHCP and work in a very bespoke manner to support our learners' complex needs. We offer a GCSE pathway and have a very inclusive curriculum.
Do you have the motivation and skills to work with young people with medical conditions (including mental health, illness, autism) to overcome the challenges they face and enable them to achieve their potential?
The role will be to work with our secondary aged learners who have learning struggles due to their missed education or cognition and learning difficulties. We are planning an exciting cognition and learning pathway incorporating a range of AQA unit awards and Entry level qualifications including offsite learning and work experience to give our young people the very best learning and skills experience they can get.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and imaginative individual, who will share in our commitment to helping all our students thrive, who will make learning engaging, fun, and inspiring.
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience teaching young people with ASC/Anxiety/ADHD
* Have QTS; Newly Qualified Teachers will be considered if they are the right person for the school
* Be a team player and welcome improvements within the department and across the school
* Have the ability to engage and inspire pupils whilst balancing nurture and high aspirations
* Have a flexible and friendly approach and be adaptable to the evolving needs of the setting
* Be committed to Shepwell’s ethos of high expectations for all
* Be willing to play a full part in the life of the school including supporting clubs/youth club/visits
* Have a positive ethos and be willing to model this for all to ensure this is the norm within the school
* Be willing to think outside the box to engage young people in education and learning
* Bring experience to a secondary setting from a primary background that will enhance the school throughout
All staff are committed to putting the pupils first, ensuring they achieve in all aspects of their learning. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic classroom practitioner with a keen interest in the wellbeing of young people who has experience, excellent organization, and ICT skills.
The school provides a continuation of education for pupils who, due to a variety of illnesses (including medical health) and/or ASC, are unable to attend a mainstream secondary school.
