We are currently recruiting for a Welfare Officer to work in a school ASAP.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide first assessment and contact point for students requiring First Aid for minor incidents and injuries, ensuring that they receive appropriate medical treatment and emergency medical care if required.
* Supervise and care for students who are unwell during the school day, ensuring that they receive appropriate medical treatment and emergency medical care if required. • Inform parents if it is necessary for a student to go home and ensure they are informed if first aid has been given.
* Administer prescribed medicines to students as and when required, in accordance with agreed medical plans.
* To keep safe under appropriate conditions, the medication of those requiring taking it during the day ensuring it is clearly labelled.
* To liaise with outside health agencies as appropriate ie, local authority school nurses and to co-ordinate immunisation programmes
In order to be considered for this role we require you meet the following criteria;
* Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
* Have at least 6 months school based experience of working in the educational setting
* Two suitable references covering the last 2 years
* Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
