A Practice Nurseplays a key role in delivering high-quality primary healthcare services, working closely with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals. Main duties of the job
The main duties of the roleinclude providing high-quality nursing care to patients, such as administering vaccinations, including baby immunisations, and performing health assessments. You will be responsible for cervical screening tests, managing long-term conditions like asthma and diabetes, and adminstration of travel vaccinations. Additionally, the role involves promoting health education, offering lifestyle advice, and supporting patients in managing their overall well-being. Collaboration with GPs and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless patient experience is also essential.

Job Summary:
Staveleigh Medical Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our dynamic and award-winning team. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to a diverse population of approximately 7,500 patients. You will play a key part in delivering a range of primary care services, including immunisations, chronic disease management, and health promotion, while contributing to the ongoing success of our highly regarded practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Immunisations : Administer routine and seasonal vaccinations, including baby immunisations and travel vaccines.
2. Cervical Screening : Carry out regular cervical smears in line with national screening programs.
3. Chronic Disease Management : Provide ongoing care and management for patients with long-term conditions such as asthma, diabetes, hypertension, and COPD.
4. Health Promotion and Education : Offer lifestyle advice and support patients in managing their health, including smoking cessation, weight management, and dietary advice.
5. Womens Health : Provide care related to family planning, contraception, and menopausal support.
6. Health Assessments : Conduct new patient checks, NHS health checks, and routine health assessments.
7. Collaboration : Work closely with GPs, healthcare assistants, and other members of the clinical team to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
8. Infection Control : Ensure the highest standards of infection control, maintaining a safe clinical environment.
9. Administration : Maintain accurate patient records, including electronic medical records, and contribute to audit and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
Essential
10. - Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC pin.
11. - Experience working in a primary care or general practice setting is preferred.
12. - Proficient in administering immunisations and performing cervical screenings.
13. - Strong understanding of chronic disease management.
14. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
15. - Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise workload.
Desirable
16. - Additional qualifications in areas such as diabetes, asthma, or family planning.
17. - Experience with electronic medical record systems (, TPP SystmOne or EMIS).
