Job Title: Phlebotomist/Healthcare Support Worker Location: Truro, Cornwall Working Hours: Part Time, shift patterns vary. 8.15am – 4.45pm on weekdays, 8.45am – 4.15pm on Saturdays, and 10.45am – 4pm on Sundays. Start Date: ASAP Rate: Up to £20 per hour (umbrella rate) with weekend enhancements Duration: Ongoing Pulse AHP’s Phlebotomy Team is currently recruiting for experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers to join the team for a role based in the Cornwall area. These roles will be working locally in the South-West area providing Phlebotomy & Healthcare Research services. This is an established programme that is looking for new candidates as it moves into its next phase. Our Future Health is the UK’s largest ever health research programme – it’s been specifically designed to help people live healthier lives for longer. Volunteers provide physical measurements, blood samples and lifestyle data to help with the discovery and testing of more effective approaches to disease prevention, early detection and treatment. Main Responsibilities: The main responsibilities include capturing height, weight, and waist measurements, taking heart rate and blood pressure checks, and inputting result data onto the system. The role involves drawing two blood samples for each participant, labelling and storing them correctly, and checking the welfare of the participant throughout the appointment, escalating any issues to the nurse in charge as required. Additionally, the role includes offering signposting, advice, and guidance to participants, and preparing boxes containing samples to be collected by the courier at the end of every shift. Qualifications and Experience: Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months Proof of competency as a phlebotomist is desired but not essential Healthcare Assistant (HCA) experience Ability to work at least 2-3 days per week in a 7-day service Driving ability is very beneficial due to the mobile nature of the sites Our Future Health is the UK’s largest ever health research programme – it’s been specifically designed to help people live healthier lives for longer.
