Group Finance Director – Chesterfield – Up to £100,000
Chase & Holland are working exclusively on a retainer basis with a dynamic, forward-thinking owner-managed business in the engineering sector, to recruit a driven Group Finance Director. The role will see you playing a key role in a passionate senior management team, for a business that has an ambitious growth plan to double in turnover over the next 3-5 years.
The Group Finance Director is responsible for providing effective advice on financial, commercial, and strategic matters. You will lead and motivate a high-performing finance team while reviewing and developing effective controls, processes, and systems to deliver the results and the vision of the business.

Group Finance Director Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement financial strategies to support the business goals and objectives
2. Conduct financial analysis, evaluate financial performance, and provide insights to support decision-making.
3. Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities
4. Develop accurate and realistic financial forecasts
5. Manage the production and present comprehensive financial reports to the executive team and board of directors, including developing more accurate division reporting.
6. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and risk management
7. Implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
8. Collaborate with other executives to develop and implement strategic initiatives
9. Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
10. Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
11. Ensure the development and retention of key finance personnel.
12. Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
13. Participate in leading internal and external audits.
Requirements:
1. Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
2. Proven track record in developing, leading, and motivating a high-performing finance department
3. Innovative & continuous improvement mentality with the ability to automate processes
4. Up-to-date technical skills and confident preparing UK statutory accounts
5. Confidence communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
6. Hands-on, enthusiastic with a ‘can do’ attitude adept at working in a dynamic business environment
7. Ability to think strategically and contribute effectively to the overall business strategy
