CNC Miller Programmer/Operator Full time – Permanent (40hrs) Southampton Salary – Competitive DOE Job Summary: Our clients Technologies team is seeking a dynamic and motivated CNC miller Programmer/Operator (primarily 5 axis). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-performance team based at their new facility in Southampton, reporting to the Machine Shop Manager. The UK facility has a brand-new machine shop with 3 Mazak CNC machines, a CMS ARES 5 axis machining centre plus a manual lathe, manual milling machine and TIG welding. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining components required for state of the art yachts. You will be accountable for every stage of the manufacturing process, including inspection and stock control. Precision machined components are produced on the Mazak machines while the ARES is used for machining composite components and moulds. Responsibilities: Programming, setting and running of Mazak and ARES CNC machines Mazak - VTC-530C 3 axis milling machine & CV5-500 5 axis milling machine CMS ARES 5 axis machining centre (Ares 6026-PX5 with 6 metre travel). Purchasing and organising tooling, work holding and fixturing. Adhere to quality control checks to ensure all components are 100% correct Organisational and stock control of all materials Carry out machine maintenance as required Components are machined in low volume quantities and some components will require some complex problem solving Background & Experience Required: Previous experience with Hypermill or MasterCam Software as a Programmer/Setter/Operator is essential Demonstrable and relevant experience with machining in a modern manufacturing environment. Additional experience with CAD, manual machine tools and fabrication preferred but not essential.
