Gate 33 offers a fantastic opportunity to learn news skills and develop existing ones. The successful applicants will need to have 6 months experience in a surgical care setting and be keen to learn new skills. Gate 33 is a fast paced, dynamic team, who strive to deliver excellent patient care each and every time. We are a 44 bedded ward which incorporates an 8 bedded level 1 facility which offers a higher observation area for those patient who require a higher level of care. Gate 33 is general surgical ward and as such is very varied, offering NG feeding, TPN, management of PCA and PCEA to name a few. The team on gate 33 are highly skilled and passionate about delivering the very best care for our patients. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be expected to deliver the best care to the patients within their team, they should have a basic understanding of the deteriorating patient and a desire to expand their knowledge. They should be dynamic, a good advocate for the patients and able to work on their own initiatives, they should have an eye for detail and be committed to delivering the highest standards of care. The successful candidate should be keen to enhance there clinical skills and knowledge. The primary aim of the role is to provide effective patient centred care by performing individual assessment of care needs, developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care that meet the needs of the patient and their families/carers. The role is multidimensional and requires the post holder to integrate and fulfil all the identified dimensions. The position offers the successful candidate to learn new skills and develop their knowledge while working in busy ward setting.
