Job overview
Are you a paediatric or adult registered nurse with paediatric experience? Perhaps you are an international nurse with paediatric experience overseas or are a registered nurse looking after children and young people in your department? If so we would welcome an application from you and would love to hear from you.
We have exciting opportunities for registered nurses to work within Rudham Ward to cover upcoming maternity leave. You would be joining a friendly and dynamic multi-disciplinary team, whose paediatric services were rated as GOOD by the CQC.
We are looking for registered nurses of all levels of experience, who have passion and drive to provide excellent patient care for all children aged 0-16 years and their families.
At present, we have positions within the paediatric ward. We can offer full or part time hours and encourage flexibility of working hours within our workforce.
Our paediatric ward has 28 beds, caring for children with a wide spectrum of medical conditions. The paediatric assessment unit is co-located within the ward allowing all staff the opportunity to develop their acute assessment skills. We have excellent links with the Tertiary centres and provide shared care for oncology patients.
Please note, this post is also open to newly qualified nurses or students due to qualify soon.
Main duties of the job
* Participate in the provision of a high standard of patient centred evidence-based nursing care
* Assist in the delivery of a family-centred, clinically effective and dynamic service from the babies/child’s/young person’s admission assessment to discharge
* Act as a role model for other staff.
* Contribute to the development of action plans, protocols and pathways to ensure continuous quality improvement of the paediatric/neonatal service.
* Using appraisal reviews to progress personal and professional knowledge and skills.
Working for our organisation
There’s never been a more exciting time to join TeamQEH. We’re working on a once in a generation opportunity to build a new state-of-the-art hospital to open in 2030 and we are also carrying out one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we’ve ever undertaken.
Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper-based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.
At The QEH we provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, North Cambs and South Lincs.
We are an ambitious organisation that upholds our values of kindness, wellness and fairness. We strive for continuous quality improvement, recently demonstrated in our 2024 CQC maternity inspection rating our services as ‘Good’, and we are proud to be a place to learn and grow through recognised learning and apprenticeships.
We recognise and reward our 4,000 staff and volunteers, priding ourselves on a community atmosphere and positive team spirit. We have approx. 530 beds across 33 wards and have newly built education and training facilities, a range of modern award-winning centres alongside a talented team of people ready to give you a warm welcome. We love working here and think you will too.
