Job summary The post holder will support the provision of respite for adults with a learning disability/ASD with a range of complex health needs and behaviours of concern. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly over a 24 hour period as part of a team to ensure that all needs are met and high standards of care are delivered. Main duties of the job Provide holistic care for service users (SU) whether they are adults,with Autism or a Learning Disability and/or complex health needs, e.g., uncontrolled epilepsy, life limiting conditions, dual diagnosis, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and other conditions and syndromes that require specific clinical interventions. Be Key worker for named individuals and assist in the development of care plans and risk assessments and attend meetings as required under the supervision or direction from senior staff. Complete electronic Nursing Notes, paper records and any mandatory charts relevant to the individual, highlighting any changes to the qualified staff. Will be required to support SU into community activities, without direct supervision. Help ensure that clients are introduced and encouraged to engage in a wide range of stimulating and creative activities by interaction both in and out of doors, encouraging the use of local community facilities where appropriate. Support SU with feeding, bathing, toileting and all personal care, promoting independence when possible, respecting dignity and individualisation. The post is multi role; therefore, all aspects of duties are required to be carried out e.g. domestic cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping and gardening.
