Job Description
Alpine F1 Team are looking for a Model Designer to help us raise the quality of our aerodynamics testing to ever-greater levels. With a dynamic and supportive team mindset and world-leading facilities in rural Oxfordshire, we provide the ideal environment where engineers can make their mark while continuously developing their own skills and capabilities.
If you are high performing, tenacious and motivated, apply today and take the first step towards joining the Enstone family.
The Role:
As a Model Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing models specifically for aerodynamic testing. This involves creating detailed and precise model designs using CAD software such as CATIA or NX. You will work closely with Aerodynamicists, Production, and the Model Shop to ensure that the models meet the required standards of accuracy and performance.
Your role will also include maintaining and updating these models based on feedback and test results. Additionally, you will develop processes associated with design and methodology, including parametrisation and automation, to enhance efficiency and accuracy in model creation.
The Person:
The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 2 years of experience in Formula 1 or a similar motorsport category, demonstrating a strong background in model design and aerodynamics. Proficiency in CAD software, particularly CATIA or NX, is essential for creating detailed and accurate models. You should have a deep understanding of wind tunnel testing, enabling you to contribute effectively to the design and development process. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial, as you will need to identify and address any issues that arise during the design and testing phases.
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment is also important, as you will be collaborating with various departments to achieve the best possible outcomes. Strong communication and collaboration skills will help you work seamlessly with your colleagues and ensure that all project goals are met.
