About the Role
Bradford Children and Families Trust is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our Children in Care Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional to play a key role in supporting children and young people who are looked after.
We offer hybrid working, though there will be occasions when you will be required to attend the office for specific tasks or team collaboration, as determined by service needs.
Responsibilities
Hold a manageable caseload of looked after children and ensure they receive high-quality care and support.
Conduct assessments, care planning, and statutory visits to promote stability and positive outcomes.
Work directly with children, young people, families, and foster carers to build strong relationships and advocate for their needs.
Attend LAC reviews, court hearings, and multi-agency meetings to contribute to care planning and decision-making.
Provide mentorship and support to less experienced social workers within the team.
Ensure all work is completed in line with legislation, policies, and best practice guidelines.Requirements
A Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
Extensive post-qualifying experience in children’s services, particularly in Children in Care or Looked After Children teams.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation (Children Act 1989/2004, Care Planning Regulations, etc.).
Experience in court proceedings and the ability to write clear, evidence-based reports.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
