Senior Trainer
We are recruiting for a Senior Trainer
Full-time, Permanent Contract.
to join the bemix team.
We are looking for someone to deliver training and line-manage other trainers, including trainers who are Autistic and/or have learning disabilities, with the powerful new Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
This is a vital role within a progressive and diverse organisation, which is the leading partner for the delivery of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training and Leadership Development of Autistic and Learning Disabled Experts by Experience for Kent and Medway.
A new partnership comprising Aucademy, bemix, Canterbury Christchurch University and the Kent Autistic Trust has been commissioned by the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) to implement the training in Kent and Medway.
The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is named after Oliver McGowan, whose death shone a light on the need for health and social care staff to have better training. The Health and Care Act 2022 introduced a statutory requirement that regulated service providers must ensure their staff receive training on understanding Autistic experience and learning disability that is appropriate to their role.
Main aim: Deliver training and line-manage other trainers with The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
Hours: 37 per week with scope to work flexibly to meet the needs of the post, including occasional evening and overnight stays away from home.
Start Date: 2nd January 2025
Location: Training may be delivered in any area of Kent and Medway. We will work with the successful applicant alongside others in the training team to make travel as efficient as possible. The project’s central base will be in Maidstone with occasional travel to our offices in Canterbury.
Duration: Permanent Contract.
Salary and benefits: NHS Band 5-6 £32,324 - £44,962 + generous 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays + Contributory Pension Scheme (5% of pay)

* Someone with experience in the successful delivery of face to face training in health and social care or similar environments.

Interviews: Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th November.
Interview format:
Part 1: 1 hour interview, including time for you to interview us!
Part 2: 30 minute demonstration of training on a topic of your choice. Please include 10 minutes for Q&A from the panel.
Part 3: 15 minute wrap up with more time for questions.
