Job Summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join the acute rotation at Broomfield Hospital. You will be part of an agile, friendly, highly motivated team of Physiotherapists working within multidisciplinary teams delivering rehabilitation to, and discharge planning for in-patients and outpatients in various settings.
You will be responsible for assessing, treating and clinically managing patients with a range of conditions; creating the treatment program required to achieve a successful discharge.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the provision of Physiotherapy in the acute and outpatient settings.

Main Duties of the Job
Assess and treat own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner.
Maintain appropriate communications and associated records while working as part of the multidisciplinary team.
Provide a high quality of treatment to all patients.
Demonstrate a commitment to the continued development of skills and knowledge through CPD, training and involvement in the rotation scheme.
Demonstrate the ability to clinically supervise the practice of assistants.
The posts are rotational, covering all areas of the acute hospital including:
* Emergency Department
* Stroke
* Critical Care
* General Surgery incl. Amputees
* Burns and Plastics at the Regional Speciality St Andrews Centre
* Medical wards
* Outpatient Musculo-skeletal department
* Orthopaedics incl. Elective surgery at Braintree Community hospital site
* Elderly
You will be working within integrated teams of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants, supported by Advanced Physiotherapists in all areas.

* Ensures that Physiotherapy treatment is based on theoretical knowledge and clinical reasoning skills.
* Manages and accepts clinical responsibility for a caseload of patients.
* Participates in evening on-call duties, assessing and treating critically ill patients.
* Delivers/produces work to the established professional/directorate standards.
* Undertakes moving/handling tasks that require intense physical effort throughout the working day.
* Performs risk assessments and undertakes skilled therapeutic handling.
* Demonstrates an understanding and aptitude towards email, word processing and the intranet/Internet.
* Demonstrates CPD through participation in internal and external development opportunities.
* Demonstrates awareness of clinical audit, research and evidence-based practice.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* HCPC registered physiotherapist or pre-registration student
* BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy
Desirable
* Member of Special Interest Group
* Evidence of ongoing CPD and attendance on courses
Experience
Essential
* Evidence of broad range of clinical experience at undergraduate level, working within the MDT
Desirable
* Supervision of other staff, e.g. assistants, technical instructors
* Previous experience working as a Therapy Assistant
