Job Description
The successful candidate will be involved in developing and industrialising tools and processes, with technical knowledge and experience in power system engineering (academic and professional). They will join an established team of experienced power systems engineers, providing opportunities to develop skills in high voltage AC and DC power system design through mentoring, training, and cross-department placements.
The role includes representing GE to external stakeholders such as clients, suppliers, and professional bodies, interacting with internal teams within HVDC and GE Renewables. There are opportunities for publishing work in scientific papers and patents.

Essential responsibilities:
The candidate may be involved in various areas and should have experience in several:
* Main Circuit Design: Develop integrated scheme designs meeting customer needs, optimizing ratings and functionalities of HVDC subsystems.
* Insulation Coordination Studies: Assess overvoltage stresses and specify protective requirements.
* Equipment Lifecycle Management: Manage lifecycle of high-value HV equipment, including specifications, supplier management, testing, and commissioning.
* Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability Studies: Create models, provide insights, and manage risks throughout the system lifecycle.
* Losses Management: Develop and validate power loss models for HVDC systems.
* Technical Leadership: Lead project activities and coordinate with other departments.
* Quality: Develop engineering processes, enforce discipline, and address non-conformances.
* Development and Industrialisation: Develop and industrialise tools and processes.
* Health and Safety: Identify risks, promote safe behaviors, and participate in safety initiatives.
Desired additional skills:
* Network Studies, Transient Studies, Harmonic Analysis, Power Quality, and related software tools.
Desired Candidate Profile
Preferably with a Master in Power Systems Engineering and proven experience in HVDC system design. Competencies include knowledge in power system design, circuit analysis, HVDC and HVAC knowledge, high voltage equipment, RAM assessment, and electrical modeling. Familiarity with tools like PSS/E, DigSilent, PSCAD, MATLAB, Python, and others is advantageous.
Strong communication, critical thinking, professionalism, technical leadership, negotiation, and team facilitation skills are required. Management competencies include planning, risk management, and knowledge sharing.
