The role
The Content Editor, LBC (Lates) will join a team of journalists, content producers and editors creating agenda-setting content. We are looking for a journalist with the editorial judgment to select LBC's most shareable on-air content and turn it viral. Working with video, audio, stills and text, you will create compelling articles that make LBC the go-to place for opinion across all our media.
This is a fixed shift pattern Sunday - Thursday
Sunday 13:30-2200
Mon-Thurs: 14:30-2300
This shift pattern will give the LBC Lates Content Editor a chance to get to grips with some of our leading shows from Andrew Marr to Ben Kentish and really take ownership of the social output.

Measures of success
In the first few months, you would have:
4. Created multiple articles, video clips and social posts to highlight the best of LBC’s opinion and presenter content
5. Live streamed in-vision programmes across our digital platform
6. Pitched content ideas and developed them through to publication
7. Reacted to breaking news and amplified LBC’s ability to respond to developing stories around the world
8. Built partnerships with multiple internal stakeholders within our Leicester Square newsroom
9. Contributed to LBC’s digital targets
Responsibilities of the role
10. You’ll create content from LBC’s radio and video output, writing/curating articles and using social media to publish original, shareable material
11. You’ll be a social media expert who knows how to elevate our award-winning presenter content and set the daily news agenda
12. You’ll be a news and politics junkie who loves breaking original stories using innovative tools to create compelling content
13. You’ll be responsible for editing video and audio to support editorial needs, including the visualisation of live on air content
14. You’ll use image editing software (Photoshop) to create accompanying pieces of design for use on the website, on videos and audio content
15. You'll be familiar with best practices on key social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube
16. Under direction of the Senior Editors, you’ll be comfortable undertaking site management tasks for lbc.co.uk and making changes to reflect the developing news agenda
17. You’ll work closely with the editorial team to help drive revenues, user numbers and customer satisfaction
18. You’ll create a great working relationship with the LBC presenters, producers, news team and management
What you will need
The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

20. You’ll be obsessed with social media and how to use it to spread our content far and wide
21. You’ll be into all multi-media with strong knowledge of video, audio and photography
22. You’ll know how to create compelling online content and have a good understanding of SEO
23. You’ll have outstanding communication skills
24. You’ll analyse online user engagement and use the data to make informed editorial decisions
25. You’ll know how to use Adobe Premiere Pro
26. You’ll react to breaking stories to deliver topical and engaging content
27. You’ll be working from our London office in Leicester Square with options for some days working from home
This role reports to the Senior Social Media Editor and the Deputy Digital Managing Editor, Newsgathering.
