We are looking for compassionate and experienced residential support workers to join our team in Liverpool. The successful candidate will have a background working with children in residential care settings and will play a key role in providing specialized care and support to our precious children.
Salary & Benefits:
£12.45 per hour
Additional £65 per sleep provided
Shift work: 8 am - 10 pm sleep-in (typical working pattern)
On-call duties provided
Paid DBS Certificate checks.
QCF LEVEL 5 leadership and management (after successfully passing the probationary period)

Role Summary:
The role of residential support worker is to support the Registered Manager, deputy manager, and team leaders in the day-to-day running of the complex care provision for children in residential care. Duties include caring for children's physical and emotional needs, supporting their education, and teaching them new skills.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment in which children can feel secure and free from harm.
2. Establish positive relationships with children, offering them unconditional and positive regard.
3. Help children gain self-control by challenging unacceptable behavior and rewarding acceptable, pro-social conduct.
4. Ensure that each child’s care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs.
5. Attend to practical matters in relation to childcare (cooking, cleaning, general maintenance around the home, etc.).
6. Act as a key worker or co-worker for a child to ensure that their care plans are up to date and all their care needs are being met.
7. Provide a positive role model, offering advice, guidance, and assistance where appropriate.
8. Provide emotional support at times of difficulty or stress.
9. Encourage children to achieve their goals and optimize their potential.
10. Support children in their education and extracurricular activities, including classroom support if necessary.
11. Keep accurate records and provide written reports on children for planning meetings, reviews, or any other meetings as directed by the line manager.
12. Empower children and facilitate their active involvement in decision-making about their lives and future.
13. Act as an advocate at meetings where the child is the subject of discussion.
14. Encourage children to develop links with the community and attend off-site activities.
General Responsibilities:
1. Attend children’s meetings and contribute to them.
2. Drive company vehicles (current driving licence holders subject to procedures).
3. Receive training appropriate to the role and maintain an up-to-date training profile.
4. Maintain accurate financial records appropriate to the duties of the post.
5. Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of self and colleagues according to Health and Safety Policies.
Special Conditions:
1. This post requires varying shifts, including early morning and late evening work, weekends, and Bank Holidays. Sleeping-in duties are also required for which an additional payment is made.
2. Occasionally, you may be requested to change your rota at short notice to ensure service contingencies are covered.
3. Accept responsibility for working within Health and Safety guidelines and report any concerns to the Registered Manager.
4. Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post and the needs of the Home.
5. This post requires a clear Criminal Records Bureau check, with initial checks funded by the company.

2. Attend team/staff meetings and make positive contributions.
3. Actively contribute to the development of the team.
4. Receive and store information to improve communication.
5. Give and receive feedback on performance with colleagues and managers.
6. Support colleagues by maintaining consistency in executing childcare plans.
7. Provide informal practical and emotional support to colleagues experiencing difficulties.
8. Attend and contribute to regular supervision sessions in line with National Minimum Standards.
9. Monitor the conduct of colleagues and report any concerns.
10. Be familiar with all policies and procedures and adhere to them.
