Payroll Business Analyst
Solihull/Hybrid
12 Month Contract – potential to be extended.
£400 per day via Umbrella Company

My client is looking for a Payroll Business Analyst to join them on an initial contract of 12 months with the strong possibility of extension. The role is hybrid working, with a minimum one day a week (Thursday) at my client’s offices in Solihull. You will be required to work Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.
Purpose
The payroll team is responsible for the accurate and timely payment of all UK-based employees. There are approximately 27,000 employees who are paid weekly, fortnightly, four weekly, and monthly across several different PAYE registrations.
The Payroll Business Analyst plays a key role in driving payroll transformation, optimising processes, and supporting business change initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll operations, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Key accountabilities
* Support payroll transformation projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.
* Analyse existing payroll processes, identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
* Work closely with HR, Finance, and IT to streamline end-to-end payroll workflows.
* Facilitate process mapping, gap analysis, and change impact assessments.
* Conduct due diligence on payroll processes, ensuring robust controls, accuracy, and risk mitigation.
* Complete analysis of data, run reports, and present findings in comprehensive PowerPoint presentations to the team.
* Support business readiness activities, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
* Ensure compliance with payroll legislation while promoting best practices in payroll governance.
* Contribute to policy and procedure development to enhance payroll operations.
* Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, ensuring smooth adoption of payroll process changes.
* Support system-related process improvements, leveraging ResourceLink expertise.
Background and Skills
* Extensive experience as a Payroll Business Analyst or Payroll Consultant.
* Strong understanding of payroll transformation, process improvement, and change management.
* Experience working with ResourceLink and supporting payroll process enhancements.
* Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
* Ability to document and communicate complex payroll processes in a clear, structured manner.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Experience in driving and embedding change within payroll teams.
* Familiarity with SAP payroll or HR modules in the context of process transformation.
* Experience supporting shared services or global payroll operating models.
* Exposure to automation, self-service, or digital payroll transformation initiatives.
* Knowledge of compliance and risk management frameworks in payroll operations
