The post holder will be a proactive role model who leads in the clinical environment on the provision of clinical education and assessment of competence in Critical Care and CCOT. You will play an essential role in the development and implementation of education to ensure evidence-based quality care is delivered to our patients.

The post holder will:
1. Work alongside nurses and other health care practitioners to ensure the provision of high-quality, safe, and effective evidence-based care in accordance with local, divisional, and hospital policies and procedures.
2. Develop and deliver training and educational programmes and optimise learning activities for practitioners.
3. Demonstrate experience in teaching and an understanding of different learning styles.
4. Provide evidence of a leadership role and team management within a Critical Care or CCOT setting.
5. Be a registered nurse with a degree in nursing or health-related studies.
6. Have completed post-registration education qualification in critical care together with a mentor/assessor qualification.
7. Have current experience in education delivery.
8. Have recent experience in Critical Care or CCOT, caring for level 2 & 3 patients.
9. Assist in identifying and defining areas for improvement and develop targeted teaching.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (Nursing & Midwifery Council registration)
* Completed a degree in Nursing or health-related studies
* Post-registration Critical Care course/modules
* Completed & up-to-date Critical Care competencies, including National Competencies
* Leadership & management training
* Postgraduate certificate of Education
Experience
* Significant level of post-registration experience
* Recent experience in Critical Care, both care of level 2 & 3 patients
* Evidence of additional responsibility/activity in a link/champion role within Critical Care
* Evidence of team leader role, team management in Critical Care
* Can demonstrate experience in teaching
* Previous band 6 experience, including team management, appraisal, objective setting, and personal review process
* Previous experience of competency-based training, planning, and delivery
* Evidence of additional responsibility, e.g., project work
* Experience in an educational role within Critical Care
