Responsibilities:
1. Encourage the people we support to make their own choices about everyday things such as what to wear, what to do, what to eat, as well as bigger decisions such as where to live, how to spend their money or where to go on holiday.
2. Enable the people we support to fulfil those choices, including structured activities which help each individual to develop their confidence and skills.
3. Support the people we support to meet their responsibilities such as paying bills, looking after their homes, being good neighbours, and keeping in close contact with friends and family.
4. Encourage the people we support to be involved in company-related activities such as training, recruitment of new staff, and attending house meetings.
Requirements:
1. Support individuals in carrying out normal household tasks.
2. Understand principles of respect and dignity.
3. Exhibit patience and empathy.
4. Support individuals with their intimate personal care with dignity and respect.
5. Demonstrate good communication skills adaptable to various situations.
6. Speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people within and outside of Cartrefi Cymru.
7. Possess good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning.
8. Have a basic ability to use a computer to keep simple records and find information.
9. Exhibit good observational skills.
10. Work effectively as part of a team.
11. Maintain consistent standards.
12. Make decisions and follow them through.
13. Be creative and organised.
14. Manage and record finances.
15. Possess a valid driving license and have access to your own vehicle.
