Our team at Specsavers Malvern is looking for a driven, enthusiastic and friendly candidate to join as Dispensing Optician, bringing their expert dispensing and customer service skills to the front line.
We opened in January 2018 and have seen incredible growth, so we are looking to expand our team. The primary role for our new DO would be leading the retail team day to day in providing exemplary, professional service to our patients, while also assisting our existing DO, the store manager, and partners in elevating the skill levels of the team by being a role model, training, and supervising the dispensing process.
The role will be fast-moving and will evolve with the growing store and team. Some of the responsibilities are listed below:
* Dispensing glasses and assisting with contact lenses
* Support the team in handling and resolving customer concerns appropriately, for both optics and service queries
* Supervising and checking team members' dispenses, including professionally registered tasks.
* Carry out and/or check kids/partially sighted dispenses and collections.
* Run morning huddles and team training sessions
* Assist in the induction and training of new starters
* Assist in supervising/supporting pre-reg and trainee DO development.
* Assist in managing the customer flow in the store effectively
* Meet and exceed all personal and team targets

* Provide exceptional, professional service that results in consistently positive feedback from customers and excellent Mystery Shopper scores
* Ensure high standards in dispensing practice
* Maintain excellent retail standards in store
* Help the management team to create a positive and energetic retail environment that motivates the team
* Understand the objectives of the business and how you can assist the Store Manager to achieve them
* Be an ambassador for the Specsavers brand at all times
Job Type / Category
Shift pattern
Our store is open seven days a week, and full-time team members work any five of those seven shifts per week. Monthly rotas are issued in advance, and weekend days off are evenly distributed among the team. Generally, professional members of the team work every other weekend. We aim to keep things fair and reasonable.
