A leading regional contractor with decades of successful trading in Mechanical, Electrical and Small Works sectors is looking for an up-and-coming Bid Assistant or Coordinator who would like to progress to a Bid Writer or more senior role to join their team. This business has an outstanding client base of organizations in the public sector and a well-established bid library. After relying on external consultancy for their Bid Writing services, this business is now keen to bring this role in-house and let an up-and-coming Bid Coordinator/Assistant make this role their own. Project values range in size from £100k to £3m and include work on schools, social housing apartment blocks, universities, and blue light facilities. This is a warm and supportive team, and there is a good level of flexible and home-based working available for the right individual.
About the Role
As Bid Writer, this role presents the opportunity to operate as a key stakeholder, working closely with the MD to help the company win more bids. Having previously relied on external consultants for bid support, this is an exciting opportunity to make the role your own and make a big contribution to the business and achieving projected growth.
Duties:
As Bid Coordinator / Bid Writer your duties will include:
1. To create professional and high-quality documentation for tender submissions as part of the overall win work strategy.
2. Lead the writing and overall coordination of bid submissions.
3. Manage the delivery of the quality documentation for bid submissions in line with relevant tender deadlines.
4. Develop and write technical & non-technical quality responses.
5. Production and formatting of Expression of Interests, approved lists & PQQs.
6. Submit tender documents and add to the bid library.
7. Ensure capturing of feedback to achieve continuous improvement.
8. Monitor tender portals/shared mailboxes for new tender opportunities and communication around existing ones.
9. Keep an up-to-date record of case studies.
10. Liaise and manage the tender process with the Estimator/Commercial team and any other stakeholders involved in the bids process.
About You
To be considered for this Bid Coordinator / Writer vacancy you will likely have the following attributes:
* You strive for high quality and take pride in your work.
* Previous employment as a Bid Assistant or Bid Coordinator.
* Ideally previous Construction Contractor employment; alternatively, candidates with previous experience with Subcontractors and Consultancies will also be considered.
* Ideally previous work on building/construction projects but not essential; candidates from other similar sectors such as housing/residential or highways/civils sector experience will also be considered.
* Excellent English language (vocabulary), grammar, and communication skills.
* Familiarity with Microsoft and other desktop publishing software packages.
