Job Title: Head of Operational Capital - Estates and Facilities

Shift Pattern: Full time - 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
Pay: 36.01 per hour Band 8C
Location: Littlemore Health Centre, Sandford Road, Littlemore, Oxford, OX4 4XN.
THIS IS A TEMPORARY ROLE - initially for approx. 3-6 months with plans to review.

About the role:
The successful Head of Operation Capital will be a key member of the estates and facilities senior management team; with responsibility for delivering the Trust's operational capital plans, including developing design feasibility schemes and cost estimates to support the development of business cases; delivering approved schemes
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
* Design innovative solutions to support the delivery of Strategic Development and Estates Transformation Plans.
* Support the development of Business Cases for operational capital schemes by preparing feasibility designs, costings, and development programmes
* Design and tender approved schemes in accordance with relevant legislation, guidance, and Trust procedures
* Continuously review and adapt the to ensure that the trust has access to suitable contractors/professional services to support the delivery of its operational plans Trust's capital procurement framework.
* Provide monthly reports on progress of all projects for which the post holder is responsible.
* Ensure that details relating to amendments to the department's asset lists (ie. engineering assets, FF&E), record drawings and building manuals are clearly documented and the data updated, reflecting any changes resulting from the undertaking of operational capital schemes.
* Ensuring mandatory reporting information returns are completed accurately and returned on time.
* Be responsible for ensuring that all work undertaken on the estate is carried out in accordance with the Trust's safe working procedures, statutory requirements and HTM guidance.
* Ensure any contractors employed to carry out capital works undertake works in accordance with safe working practices, complying with the Trust's PTW process

Essential criteria:
* Extensive experience as a senior manager within an estates and facilities department
* The ability to demonstrate good knowledge of all aspects of estates and facilities management.
* Detailed knowledge of statutory requirements in relation to estates and facilities
* Detailed knowledge of HTM/HBN requirements in relation to design
* Experience of working across departments and organisational boundaries
* Extensive experience of designing and managing large scale development schemes
